het kenteken is MT-43-BB , het is een bruine 1200 aspencade , met een knuffel van een walrus op het kofferrek en de naam wallie in chrome letters onder op een zijkoffer ( achterkant)

Flies on the walls of Honda's R&D meetings would probably have heard discussions about the wisdom of developing a specific motorcycle from scratch to go after what was then a niche market. Long distance riding still regarded as a risky, eyebrow-raising venture, undertaken by men possessed of extraordinary spirit and a who may have been a bit foolhardy. And that was due in part to the bikes available then.

Little known history of the GL1000

Circa 1990 I began my research into the history of my 1975 Goldwing GL1000, Nellie-Bell. My discoveries were pretty cool at best, but for the most part they were fairly common knowledge. Honda has always had a reasonable means of keeping track of when units were produced by recording the month and year of its production on the nameplate that is located on the front of the bike’s frame at the steering head. On most all of the early GLs this plate is positioned to the left side of the head section.
